Conference Venue

Mid-Atlantic Macromolecular Crystallography Meeting was held at the University of Virginia, June 8th - 10th Charlottesville, Virginia, is a lovely place to visit. The historic grounds of the University are very picturesque. Thomas Jefferson’s “Academic Village” provides a glimpse at the origins of higher education in this country, and is still at the heart of a vibrant community. The city has many restaurants, including a wide selection of fine dining. Many of these line the “Downtown Mall,” a brick-lined, pedestrian mall with many quaint shops, art galleries and an open-air amphitheater. Charlottesville is in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, and the surrounding area is rich in historic venues, such as Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello, and many renowned wineries and craft breweries. Shenandoah National Park and the Blue Ridge Parkway are close by.
