Crystallographers of all experience levels are invited to a workshop focusing on structure determination using HKL-3000. HKL-3000 seamlessly combines the data processing and scaling capabilities of HKL-2000 with other state of the art crystallographic software to allow all parts of the structure solution and refinement process to be handled within one program. HKL3000 is integrated with APR/wARP, CCP4, COOT, DM, MLPHARE, MOLPROBITY, REFMAC5, RESOLVE, SHELXD, SHELXE, and SOLVE.
Example data sets will be available, but participants are encouraged to bring data sets that they are having difficulty solving, especially if they have been sitting on the shelf for years.
This workshop will be held in Wladek Minor's laboratory, room 4223 in Jordan Hall. Parking and/or transportation will be available. More details will be available soon.
Participation will be limited to 20 - 30 people.
Crystallographers are invited to learn more about electron cryomicroscopy (cryoEM) with demonstrations of sample preparation, data collection, and image analysis. Participants will have the opportunity to see how grids are prepared for microscopy, and observe them in the microscope. Additionally, Dr. Yeager will present an overview of current trends and the fundamentals of image processing.
The demonstrations will be held at the Snyder Building located in the Fontaine Research Park. Parking and/or transportation will be available. More details will be available soon.
